Sonia started dancing at 4, and now at 17 has achieved many awards and places on international courses in the US, Monaco and Berlin. Equally passionate about community and encouraging others to feel good about themselves and achieve their goals, Sonia’s organised city clean-ups, volunteer groups for Ronald McDonald House and teaching free dance workshops, sign language classes, running a school restaurant and mentoring younger dancers. As one of very few dancers world-wide to have successfully auditioned for the highly competitive American Ballet Theatre JKO 1 year programme (2022- 2023), this Grant will help towards Sonia’s tuition costs. Ultimately her dream is to dance for the American Ballet Theatre Studio Co. - one of the world’s leading dance companies.
