Luka is 16 and has always loved playing music and only picked up the trumpet in his first year of college after playing piano until then. Since then, he has wanted nothing (else) more than to be a proficient jazz trumpeter. He feels a close emotional connection with Jazz playing, and practicing is the highlight of his day. Luka won a silver award at the Southern Jam and has his sights set on winning gold. He holds the title of National Junior Flugelhorn Champion. His teachers talk of his exceptional musical ability and say it’s his high work ethic that will help him to achieve his goals. Luka aims to succeed in gaining scholarship music at Marlborough Boys College, and ultimately having a career in jazz.
